Nairobi Nightlife Gets an Orchestral Twist as The Singleton Brings Bar Symphony to the City

Nairobi’s nightlife is set for a different kind of entertainment as The Singleton partners with Bar Symphony to introduce an orchestral music experience at Alloy Lounge Bar in Westlands on November 7, 2026.

The event will bring together a 12-piece chamber orchestra to perform fresh orchestral interpretations of contemporary hits, blending classical music with modern Afro sounds, fashion and art.

Curated by 360 Immersive and Ugandan music director Josh SB, Bar Symphony is designed to take live orchestral music beyond traditional concert halls and into the nightlife scene.

The concept seeks to give audiences a different way of experiencing familiar songs, combining live instrumental performances with the atmosphere of a premium bar.

Josh SB said the idea was inspired by the desire to create something unexpected for audiences looking for fresh entertainment experiences.

“I’ve always been drawn to ideas that defy the norm. An orchestra is hardly something you would expect to find in a bar, and that’s exactly what makes Bar Symphony exciting; it’s about turning a familiar environment into something unexpected but memorable. Nairobi’s audience embraces novelty and new experiences, and we are excited to offer them an entirely new way to appreciate live music,” he said.

Why The Singleton is backing the experience

For The Singleton, the partnership reflects the whisky brand’s focus on craftsmanship, patience and attention to detail.

The brand says these values are also central to Bar Symphony, where musical arrangements, performance transitions and the overall event experience are carefully put together.

Liz Otieno, Brand Manager at The Singleton, said the collaboration responds to growing interest in premium experiences that bring people together through music, culture and creativity.

“The Bar Symphony embodies the kind of thoughtful, premium experiences that today’s consumers are actively seeking. It reflects our belief that some of life’s most memorable moments occur when people slow down, immerse themselves in the moment, and truly savour it. Through this partnership, we are bringing that concept to life in a way that is culturally relevant, modern, and unique,” she said.

Guests will also experience a range of Singleton-themed activities, including signature serves, curated whisky rituals and dedicated spaces designed to encourage interaction and appreciation of the brand.

Nairobi event follows Kampala debut

The Nairobi edition follows the concept’s inaugural event in Kampala, Uganda, which organisers say sold out a 500-seat premium venue and attracted creatives, cultural tastemakers and other experience seekers.

The event also marks the start of The Singleton’s festive season programme, which will feature more culturally themed events and collaborations aimed at connecting consumers with the brand.

As the festive season approaches, the whisky brand is encouraging consumers to embrace more meaningful experiences and make time for moments that bring people together.

The Singleton and Bar Symphony will take place on November 7, 2026, at Alloy Lounge Bar in Westlands, Nairobi.
