Samsung has been named among Kenya’s three strongest brands in the 2026 Superbrands East Africa rankings, emerging as the country’s leading electronics brand and the highest-ranked foreign brand overall.

The company scored 89.622 points, placing it among the most highly regarded brands across different sectors in Kenya. The ranking reflects consumer perceptions of quality, reliability and brand distinction.

The research, conducted by Kantar across 112 categories, assessed how Kenyan consumers view established brands, making the recognition a reflection of public confidence and the reputation companies have built in the market.

For Samsung, the ranking highlights the trust consumers have placed in its products and the role its technology continues to play in their everyday lives.

Nyawira Muraguri, Head of Corporate Marketing at Samsung Electronics East Africa, said the recognition was particularly meaningful because it was based on consumer perceptions.

“Ranking among Kenya’s top three strongest brands is an affirming achievement for Samsung, particularly because this recognition comes directly from consumers. It confirms the trust we have built in this market and the expectations that come with it,” she said.

Muraguri noted that maintaining a strong brand goes beyond reputation, requiring consistent product quality, reliable customer experiences and the ability to respond to changing consumer needs.

“Kenya plays a key role in our regional strategic ambitions, and this ranking confirms that we are responding to the needs of Kenyan consumers. As the country embraces new opportunities in digitalisation and technology, Samsung remains committed to bringing innovation closer to consumers and creating experiences that make a tangible difference in people’s lives,” she added.

The recognition comes as consumer trust increasingly influences purchasing decisions.

According to the Kantar research, 86 per cent of surveyed consumers are likely to buy products or services carrying the Superbrands seal, while 84 per cent said the recognition would increase their trust in a brand. Another 81 per cent believe the seal helps brands stand out from their competitors.

The findings suggest that consumers are looking beyond brand awareness and advertising, placing greater value on consistent quality, reliability and products that deliver on their promises.

For Samsung, this means continuing to invest in technology and products that respond to changing lifestyles and everyday needs.

Across its range of smartphones, televisions, home appliances and connected devices, the company continues to introduce innovations aimed at improving convenience, strengthening connectivity and making everyday experiences easier.

The company’s broader strategy also focuses on using technology to create opportunities for individuals, businesses and communities while supporting Kenya’s growing digital economy.

The latest recognition adds to Samsung’s standing in Kenya’s technology market as it continues to invest in innovation and develop products and services aimed at meeting the changing expectations of consumers.
