The Anti-Doping Agency of Kenya (ADAK) on Tuesday held a high-level technical support meeting with a delegation from the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) aimed at strengthening Kenya’s compliance with the World Anti-Doping Code and reinforcing the country’s commitment to clean sport.

The engagement brought together members of the ADAK Board of Directors and Heads of Departments, creating a platform for in-depth dialogue on aligning national anti-doping programmes with international standards.

Discussions focused on enhancing institutional capacity, improving operational effectiveness, and sharing technical guidance across key functional areas of anti-doping implementation.

Officials said the meeting was critical in ensuring that Kenya’s anti-doping framework remains robust, effective, and fully compliant with the World Anti-Doping Code, while also safeguarding the rights and welfare of clean athletes.

The technical support visit underscored WADA’s role in supporting National Anti-Doping Organizations globally and reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening compliance through collaboration and capacity building. For ADAK, the engagement was seen as part of its broader strategy to promote transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement in the fight against doping.

Kenya has in recent years intensified efforts to align its anti-doping systems with global best practices, particularly in response to heightened international scrutiny of athletics and other competitive sports. Officials noted that sustained collaboration with WADA is essential to maintaining confidence in Kenya’s sporting integrity on the global stage.

Both ADAK and WADA reiterated their shared responsibility to protect clean athletes and promote fair play at all levels of sport, emphasizing that strong governance, technical cooperation, and adherence to global standards remain central to preserving the credibility of competition.
