A resurfaced video showing the late former Prime Minister Raila Odinga publicly introducing Oketch Salah as his adopted son has lent weight to Salah’s assertions of a close relationship with the veteran statesman, sparking renewed national discussion.

In the footage, captured during a public address in Migori County, Mr Odinga is seen warmly presenting Salah to residents before inviting him to speak to the crowd—an endorsement that observers say goes beyond a casual or one-off interaction.

The video surfaced a day after Raila Odinga’s daughter, Winnie Odinga, told Citizen TV that her father had only met Salah once and that the family had limited knowledge about him.

However, the newly emerged footage appears to challenge that account, suggesting a level of familiarity and public recognition that aligns with Salah’s claims.

Supporters argue that Mr Odinga’s decision to introduce Salah in a public forum, and to grant him a platform to address supporters, reflects trust and acknowledgment that would not ordinarily be extended to a stranger.

In recent days, Oketch Salah has consistently maintained that he shared a meaningful relationship with the late statesman, a position now reinforced by visual evidence that has circulated widely across social media and political spaces.

While the Odinga family has yet to issue an official statement addressing the resurfaced video, the footage has significantly shifted public perception, with many now calling for a more nuanced and fact-based discussion on Salah’s association with the late opposition leader.
