Dagoreti North residents have lauded ongoing road infrastructure projects in the area, terming them a step in the right direction toward improved accessibility and security. However, they are now urging leaders to scale up development efforts to meet growing demand.

The residents specifically praised the tarmacking of Waruku Road, a key project expected to ease transport, boost economic and address security concerns in the ward.

The road project that will be followed by installation of street lighting has been highlighted as a major milestone in enhancing safety, particularly at night.

Area Member of Parliament Beatrice Elachi has been encouraged to sustain her collaboration with relevant government agencies to deliver more transformative projects.

Beyond infrastructure, Elachi has been at the forefront of youth and education empowerment programmes within the constituency.

Through sustained bursary schemes and mentorship initiatives, hundreds of students have benefited, with many recording improved academic performance and personal development.

In addition, her office has rolled out digital empowerment initiatives, including a fully sponsored digital skills training programme targeting over 500 young people. The programme equips youth with practical competencies such as online freelancing, digital marketing, and entrepreneurship, positioning them for opportunities in the modern economy.

Further, partnerships with private sector players have seen the introduction of mobile digital classrooms under initiatives like the DigiTruck programme, where hundreds of youth have already graduated with essential ICT skills, boosting employability and innovation across the constituency.

Elachi’s leadership has also been credited with fostering unity among local leaders, including Members of County Assembly across wards such as Gatina Ward, Kileleshwa, and Kabiro.

This collaboration has contributed to coordinated development efforts ranging from bursary distribution to grassroots projects.

Her performance has not gone unnoticed nationally, with independent assessments ranking her among Kenya’s top-performing female legislators, citing her effectiveness in legislative work, oversight, and delivery of constituency development projects.

At the same time, residents have called on both the MP and Members of the County Assembly to prioritize underserved sections of the constituency. Of particular concern are parts of Gatina Ward bordering Westlands Constituency, where they say street lighting remains inadequate.

According to locals, expanding such infrastructure alongside ongoing youth and education programmes will not only improve mobility but also significantly enhance security and economic opportunities across the constituency.
