LG Launches xboom Stage 501 in East Africa With 25-Hour Battery and AI Karaoke
LG Electronics has launched its xboom Stage 501 portable party speaker across East Africa, introducing a new audio device that combines powerful sound, AI-powered karaoke and interactive lighting for home and outdoor entertainment.
The speaker allows users to turn songs from their existing playlists into karaoke tracks, eliminating the need to search for special karaoke versions of their favourite music.
The launch, announced on November 6, 2026, expands LG’s range of lifestyle audio products and reinforces the company’s focus on bringing innovative entertainment technology closer to consumers across the region.
The xboom Stage 501 is part of the xboom by will.i.am lineup, which also includes the xboom Mini, Rock, Grab, Bounce and Stage 301.
Donghun Lee, President of LG Electronics East Africa, said the new speaker was designed to make it easier for people to enjoy music together without complicated setups.
“With the LG xboom Stage 501, we set out to simplify how people enjoy music together by removing the need for dedicated karaoke tracks or complex setup,” Lee said.
“By combining powerful sound performance with AI that adapts to both the content and the environment, we are making it easier for users to turn any moment into a shared music experience,” he added.
AI Technology Turns Any Song Into Karaoke
One of the speaker’s main features is AI Karaoke Master, which allows users to turn virtually any song into a karaoke track in real time.
Unlike traditional karaoke systems that require specially prepared versions of songs without vocals, the technology allows users to sing along to music directly from their existing playlists.
The speaker comes with an AI Vocal Remover and Key Changer, allowing users to adjust vocal levels and change the musical key to suit their singing abilities and preferred vocal ranges.
The adjustments can be made directly on the speaker or through its companion application, making it easier for individuals and groups to enjoy karaoke without additional equipment.
Powerful Sound for Indoor and Outdoor Entertainment
Beyond karaoke, the xboom Stage 501 is designed to deliver powerful audio for different entertainment settings.
It produces up to 220 watts of output when connected to a power source and up to 160 watts when running on battery.
Its sound system combines audio expertise from will.i.am with premium components developed by Peerless to deliver balanced sound and strong bass across different music genres.
Whether used for house parties, outdoor gatherings or larger social events, the speaker is designed to provide an engaging listening experience.
AI-Powered Sound and Lighting
LG has also incorporated artificial intelligence features that automatically adjust the speaker’s performance depending on the music and surrounding environment.
AI Sound analyses the type of content being played and adjusts the audio output, while Space Calibration Pro assesses the surrounding space and optimises sound performance.
The speaker also features AI Lighting, which synchronises lighting effects with the music to create a more immersive entertainment experience.
These features are designed to minimise manual adjustments while allowing users to enjoy sound and lighting suited to different environments.
Portable Design With Multiple Setup Options
The xboom Stage 501 has received both the Red Dot Design Award 2026 and the iF Design Award 2026 in recognition of its design.
It features an integrated dual-handle system for easier transportation and can be positioned upright, horizontally, at an angle or mounted on a pole, depending on the user’s needs.
Its lighting system includes dual-bar LED lights, strobe effects and accent lighting on the control panel, adding a visual element to music and social gatherings.
Up to 25 Hours of Battery Life
For users who enjoy extended listening sessions, the speaker offers up to 25 hours of battery life, reducing the need for frequent recharging.
It also features a replaceable battery, allowing users to extend entertainment sessions by changing batteries when needed.
Combined with its portable design and durable construction, the xboom Stage 501 is built for both indoor and outdoor use.
With the new launch, LG is expanding its connected audio portfolio with a speaker that brings together karaoke, powerful sound and AI-powered entertainment features in one portable device.
