Residents of Makina Ward woke up to a wave of indignation this morning following reports that their Member of County Assembly (MCA), Rosemary Masitsa Shitote, was the victim of a targeted act of vandalism.

The incident, which saw the MCA’s personal vehicle significantly damaged by unknown individuals under the cover of night, has sparked a heated outcry from the local community.

As news of the vandalism spread, a large group of residents gathered to express their dismay. Many describe the attack as an attempt to intimidate a leader they characterize as “selfless” and “fair.”

“We are shocked because Rosemary has always worked for everyone without favor,” said one resident during a morning briefing. “To see her targeted this way feels like an attack on the whole ward.”

The mood in Makina is one of firm resolve. Community members have issued a formal call to local law enforcement to prioritize the investigation.

Key demands from the residents include:
Swift Investigation: A thorough forensic and witness-led search to identify the perpetrators.

Clear Motives: Determining whether the act was a random crime or a politically motivated attempt at intimidation.

Increased Security: Enhanced protection for local leaders who may be facing threats.

While the culprits remain at large, the community’s support for MCA Shitote appears to have strengthened in the wake of the incident.

Local supporters have vowed to “protect their leader,” emphasizing that they will not allow external actors to destabilize the leadership they democratically chose
