TECNO has unveiled a concept smartphone that eliminates the visible black edge normally found around a phone’s display, presenting what it describes as the industry’s first 0mm display border.
The Next-Gen Bezelless Concept Phone was showcased at IFA ShowStoppers 2026 in Berlin, where TECNO presented a range of new smartphones, laptops and connected devices.
The concept phone pushes the display to the edge of the handset, eliminating the narrow strip that has remained visible on smartphones even as manufacturers have steadily reduced bezels.
TECNO said the design was made possible through changes to the internal display structure, engineering and screen packaging.
The company said the technology is intended to demonstrate what could be possible in future smartphones rather than introduce a new retail model.
The device is not currently available for sale, and TECNO has not announced a launch date or the markets where it could eventually be sold.
The company said some of the technology developed for the concept, including advances in camera integration, touch response, sound, structural design and user-interface interaction, could influence future products.
New laptops target work, study and entertainment
The bezelless concept was part of a wider TECNO showcase that included the MEGABOOK T15 360 Series, MEGABOOK T17 Ultra and MEGABOOK K15S WCL laptops.
The MEGABOOK T15 360 Series marks TECNO’s move into laptops featuring a 360-degree hinge and touchscreen support.
The range comprises the MEGABOOK T15 360 and T15 360 Pro, allowing users to switch between laptop, tablet, tent and stand modes.
Both models feature 15.6-inch touchscreens with 10-point multi-touch support, while selected configurations support MPP 2.0 active pens.
The standard T15 360 has a Full HD display with a 60Hz refresh rate, while the Pro version comes with a 2.5K 120Hz panel and 100 per cent sRGB colour coverage.
Depending on the configuration, the laptops can be equipped with up to an Intel Core Ultra 9 185H processor, LPDDR5X memory and PCIe SSD storage.
They also feature a 70Wh battery and a 65W PD GaN charger.
The T15 360 Series is expected to enter the European market in the fourth quarter of 2026, while availability in other markets will depend on local launch plans.
The MEGABOOK K15S WCL was also displayed as an option aimed at students and young professionals. It features Intel’s Wildcat Lake platform, a 16:10 display, an all-metal body, a 70Wh battery and 65W GaN fast charging.
For users looking for a larger display, TECNO presented the 17.3-inch MEGABOOK T17 Ultra. The laptop can be configured with up to an Intel Core Ultra 9 processor and LPDDR5X memory.
Its 99.99Wh battery and 100W GaN PD fast charging are designed for users handling heavier productivity tasks, creative work, gaming and entertainment.
Two smartphones complete TECNO’s showcase
TECNO also used the Berlin event to highlight the POVA 8 Pro 5G Tonino Lamborghini Limited Edition and the CAMON Slim 5G.
The POVA 8 Pro 5G Tonino Lamborghini Limited Edition combines design elements from the Italian luxury brand with hardware aimed at performance.
The phone uses the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Ultimate 5G platform alongside TECNO’s P1 Graphic Chip and a 5K IceShield Vapor Chamber Cooling System.
TECNO has also included imaging and artificial intelligence features as part of the device.
The CAMON Slim 5G takes a different approach, focusing on a slim design while retaining the camera-focused features associated with the CAMON series.
The handset measures 6.39mm thick and combines mobile photography features with AI tools in a lightweight form factor.
What it means for Kenyan consumers
TECNO has a significant presence in Kenya, where smartphones are increasingly used for communication, entertainment, work, learning, photography and content creation.
The range displayed in Berlin reflects the broader shift towards devices being used for multiple purposes rather than a single task.
However, Kenyan consumers will have to wait for confirmation on which of the products will be launched locally.
TECNO has not yet announced Kenyan prices, availability or launch dates for the devices featured at IFA ShowStoppers 2026.
The company operates in more than 70 markets and has continued to expand its smartphone and computing portfolio.
For now, the Next-Gen Bezelless Concept Phone remains a technology demonstration, offering a glimpse of a possible future in which the familiar black border around a smartphone display could disappear completely.
