Jubilee Party leader Fred Matiang’i’s tour of the Coast region has ended amid confusion within the party, as Ukombozi Alliance co-leader Kalonzo Musyoka arrived in Mombasa for a busy schedule.
Matiang’i’s tour, which was expected to strengthen the Jubilee Party’s presence at the Coast, was marked by the absence of the party’s National Organising Secretary Yassir Noor.
Noor was reportedly missing throughout the tour, raising questions over the coordination of the former Interior Cabinet Secretary’s programme in the region.

The tentative programme was instead handled by Jubilee Party Deputy Leader Beatrice Mbodze Gambo and National Chairman Vincent Mogaka Kimoki.
In Mombasa, Matiang’i chaired a local party delegates forum at a hotel in the North Coast before attending a requiem Mass for 17 pilgrims who died in the Salama Road crash.
The Mass was held at St Mathias Mulumba Catholic Parish in Mikindani, Jomvu Constituency, Mombasa County.
During the service, Matiang’i delivered a message of condolence from retired President Uhuru Kenyatta to the families who lost their loved ones in the tragic road accident.

The former CS’s visit came as Kalonzo Musyoka jetted into Mombasa, setting the stage for increased political activity in the Coast region.
The developments are expected to attract attention as political parties and alliances position themselves ahead of the 2027 General Election.
Efforts to obtain comments from local Jubilee Party leaders on the reported absence of Noor and the outcome of Matiang’i’s Coast tour were unsuccessful.
