Nairobi event brings Korean food, beauty, entertainment and technology closer to Kenyan consumers
Growing interest in Korean culture in Kenya is increasingly extending beyond entertainment to food, beauty, technology and consumer products, creating new opportunities for brands to engage consumers through experiential platforms.
This was evident at the K-Lifestyle Experience, held at Village Market in Nairobi, which brought together Korean brands and experiences spanning food, beauty, entertainment, technology and lifestyle products.
The event gave visitors an opportunity to interact with participating brands, discover new products and explore aspects of contemporary Korean lifestyle beyond what they encounter through film, music and digital media.
Among the companies participating was LG Electronics East Africa, which showcased a range of its home entertainment and kitchen appliance solutions.
Visitors were able to interact with LG products and explore how the company’s technologies are designed to support everyday activities, from entertainment and connectivity at home to convenience in the kitchen.
The interactive showcase also gave LG an opportunity to engage directly with consumers and demonstrate its products in a real-world setting.
Speaking during the event, LG Electronics East Africa Head of Marketing Jane Kariuki said the experience provided an opportunity for the company to connect with consumers while highlighting the Korean heritage and innovation associated with the LG brand.
“Participating in the K-Lifestyle Experience gave us an opportunity to connect with consumers in a setting that celebrates the culture and innovation behind our brand,” said Kariuki.
“As a Korean company with a long-standing commitment to innovation, we were pleased to showcase solutions that demonstrate how technology can enhance everyday experiences and make life better for consumers.”
For LG Electronics East Africa, the event provided a platform to bring its Korean heritage and global technology portfolio closer to Kenyan consumers while creating opportunities for direct interaction with its products.
The broader K-Lifestyle Experience also highlighted the changing way Kenyan consumers are engaging with Korean brands, as interest in Korean culture increasingly translates into curiosity about the products, technologies and lifestyles associated with the country.
Events that combine cultural experiences with consumer products can provide brands with an opportunity to move beyond traditional advertising and allow consumers to experience products firsthand.
For LG, the Nairobi showcase offered an avenue to demonstrate how its home technology and appliances connect with everyday consumer needs while participating in a wider celebration of Korean culture and innovation.
