Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra and S12+ combine slim designs, upgraded performance, large AMOLED displays and Galaxy AI for work and creative tasks
Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy Tab S12 series, introducing the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra and Galaxy Tab S12+ with a focus on productivity, artificial intelligence and mobile creativity.
The new tablets combine large Dynamic AMOLED 2X displays, upgraded processing power, long battery life and Samsung’s latest Galaxy AI features, positioning the devices as portable alternatives for users handling work, learning and creative projects.
“The Galaxy Tab S12 series is designed for people who are constantly exploring new ideas, developing new skills and bringing their ambitions to life,” said Jay Kim, Executive Vice President and Head of Customer Experience Office, Mobile eXperience (MX) Business at Samsung Electronics.
“Built with industry-leading hardware, the Galaxy Tab S12 series pairs an expansive screen with the power of Galaxy AI — removing friction from complex tasks so users can stay focused on achieving impactful results.”
Slim design, bigger displays
At 5.1mm thick, the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra is Samsung’s thinnest Galaxy Tab yet. It features a 14.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, while the Tab S12+ comes with a 12.6-inch panel.
Both displays support peak brightness of up to 1,600 nits, with Samsung’s upgraded Vision Booster adjusting brightness in real time based on surrounding lighting conditions.
The tablets also feature IP68-rated water and dust resistance and come with an ergonomically designed S Pen for writing, annotating documents and sketching.
More processing power
Samsung says the Galaxy Tab S12 series delivers its most powerful tablet performance to date, powered by a 3nm processor.
Compared with the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra, the new processor delivers up to 61% faster NPU processing, 19% faster CPU performance and 17% improved GPU performance, according to Samsung.
A redesigned 3D Vapor Chamber is intended to improve heat dissipation during demanding workloads such as video editing and graphic design.
The tablets are also equipped with batteries rated to deliver up to 23 hours of use on the Tab S12 Ultra and up to 21 hours on the Tab S12+. Samsung says a 45W adapter can recharge the devices from zero to 100% in about 95 minutes.
Galaxy AI turns the tablet into a workspace
The Galaxy Tab S12 series runs Android 17 with One UI 9 and integrates Galaxy AI into functions such as research, note-taking and content creation.
Multi Window allows users to divide the screen into up to three sections. A student, for example, can watch a lecture, take notes in Samsung Notes and use an AI assistant simultaneously.
Note Assist can then summarise notes, allowing users to capture and organise information without leaving the workflow.
The tablets also come with a six-month trial of Google AI Pro. Gemini can be used to answer questions and explore topics, while Gemini Notebook allows users to bring together notes, images, recordings and files to create summaries, podcasts and quizzes.
Samsung Browser can also summarise information across open webpages and help users retrieve relevant information from previously viewed pages.
Professional apps included
Samsung is also expanding the Tab S12’s productivity proposition through a range of professional and creative applications.
Adobe Photoshop comes pre-loaded on the Galaxy Tab S12 series, marking the first time the full Photoshop experience is pre-loaded on an Android tablet, according to Samsung. Users also receive four months of free access to the Photoshop mobile plan.
Other offers include six months of Notability, one year of Goodnotes, a 66% discount on LumaFusion, one month of Notion Plus and a six-month Clip Studio Paint trial, alongside discounts on selected subscriptions.
Additional applications available on the tablets include MyScript Math, MyScript Notes, Noteshelf 3 and ArcSite, covering areas such as mathematics, handwritten notes, digital art and technical drawing.
