AI Investments Help Samsung Maintain No. 5 Position in Global Brand Rankings

Samsung Electronics has maintained its position among the world’s five most valuable brands for the seventh consecutive year, with its brand value rising to US$105.2 billion.

Samsung Electronics has retained its position at No. 5 in Interbrand’s Best Global Brands 2026 ranking, becoming the only Asia-based company to remain in the global top five every year since 2020.

The latest ranking, announced on October 28, 2026, places the South Korean technology giant’s brand value at US$105.2 billion, reflecting its financial performance, growing artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities and customer-focused business strategy.

According to Samsung, Interbrand’s evaluation recognised three key areas: record earnings driven by investments in AI semiconductors, stronger AI competitiveness in its Device eXperience (DX) Division, and its customer-centric approach under the “One Samsung” strategy.

Samsung’s Device Solutions (DS) Division continued to benefit from growing demand for AI-related technologies, increasing the supply of high-value memory products.

The division also strengthened its position in the semiconductor market through the mass production and commercial shipment of HBM4, which Samsung describes as an industry first.

Meanwhile, the DX Division has continued expanding AI-powered experiences across Samsung’s product ecosystem, including smartphones, televisions and home appliances.

The company said its approach focuses on making everyday activities more convenient through personalised AI features and greater connectivity between devices.

Among its latest product developments, Samsung introduced the Galaxy Z Fold8, the eighth generation of its foldable smartphone series. The device features a new form factor and a 4:3 display aspect ratio, which the company says is designed to redefine the foldable category.

Samsung said the design has resonated with younger consumers while expanding the device’s appeal across different generations.

Interbrand evaluates global brands annually by examining their financial performance and future outlook, the influence of their brands on consumer purchasing decisions, and their competitive strength in the market.

The assessment also considers factors such as brand strategy, empathy, differentiation, customer engagement, consistency and trust.

Samsung’s continued presence in the top five highlights its sustained global brand strength as competition intensifies in the AI and consumer technology sectors.
