Naivas Supermarkets marked Father’s Day with a nationwide customer appreciation drive that saw the retailer’s top executives engage directly with fathers shopping in stores across the country.

The initiative, held on Sunday under the retailer’s ongoing Kikapu Kibonge campaign, was rolled out simultaneously in more than 110 Naivas outlets spread across 38 counties.

The activation saw senior company leaders leave their offices and join customers on the shop floor to personally thank and celebrate fathers shopping at Naivas stores.

Leading the exercise was Naivas Group Chief Executive Officer, Andreas von Paleske, who headed one of two senior leadership teams deployed across the country. Another team comprising members of the retailer’s executive committee conducted similar engagements in stores located in different regions.

Speaking during the exercise, von Paleske said the company sought to recognise the important role fathers play in families and communities.

“Fatherhood carries a quiet, daily weight that rarely gets celebrated out loud. Kikapu Kibonge has always been Naivas’s promise to size up the Kenyan household’s basket and its lifestyle. Today, we are sizing up that same promise to honour the men who carry their households on their shoulders every single day, in every corner of this country,” he said.

According to the retailer, fathers visiting Naivas stores during the celebrations received tokens of appreciation and participated in dedicated in-store recognition activities.

The company said the Father’s Day engagement was part of the broader Kikapu Kibonge campaign, which seeks to provide customers with greater value, affordability and an enhanced shopping experience.

Naivas noted that the initiative reflected the retailer’s long-standing focus on customer-centricity, community engagement and integrity.

“This was built to be felt by fathers in every region we serve, from our stores in Nairobi to the Coast, the Rift Valley, Western Kenya and beyond. Wherever there is a Naivas, there was appreciation for fathers today,” the company said.

Naivas, Kenya’s largest homegrown retail chain, operates more than 110 stores across over 38 counties and has maintained its focus on affordable retail services and customer engagement as part of its growth strategy.
