New Samsung Experience Store at Naivas Mall becomes the company’s 24th SES outlet in Kenya

Samsung Electronics East Africa has expanded its retail footprint in western Kenya with the opening of a new Samsung Experience Store (SES) at Naivas Mall in Kisii, as the company seeks to bring its products and services closer to consumers in growing regional markets.

The outlet, operated by Samsung EIP partner Nexora Agencies, is the company’s 24th Samsung Experience Store in Kenya and takes Samsung’s total number of Brand Stores in the country to 26.

The expansion comes as Kisii strengthens its position as a regional commercial centre, supported by agriculture, trade and a growing business community.

For Samsung, the new outlet provides an opportunity to deepen its engagement with consumers and businesses in Kisii and neighbouring counties while giving customers direct access to its mobile and consumer electronics portfolio.

“Kisii represents an important opportunity for Samsung as we continue to grow our presence across Kenya. The region has a strong economic base, an active consumer market and a growing need for technology that supports how people live, work, learn and do business,” said Manish Jangra, Head of Mobile Experience at Samsung Electronics East Africa.

“Our 24th Samsung Experience Store marks another important step in our retail expansion, bringing Samsung closer to consumers in Kisii while strengthening how we engage with and respond to their evolving needs.”

Smartphone market drives demand

The retail expansion comes against a broader shift in Kenya’s technology landscape, with smartphones increasingly becoming important tools for communication, financial services, education, commerce and access to information.

Data from the Communications Authority of Kenya shows that smartphones accounted for 63.7 per cent of mobile devices connected to Kenyan networks by the third quarter of the 2025/26 financial year, while mobile broadband usage continued to rise.

Samsung says the growth reinforces the importance of combining wider product availability with a stronger physical retail experience where consumers can test devices, receive product guidance and engage directly with the brand.

The company has also pursued partnerships aimed at addressing affordability and other barriers to smartphone ownership.

One such partnership is with Watu, an asset-financing company, which Samsung says has supported efforts to make smartphones more accessible to a broader segment of consumers.

“Partnerships are an important part of how we extend our reach and respond to the realities of the Kenyan market,” said George Kebaso, EIP Lead at Samsung Electronics East Africa.

“Watu has played an important role in our smartphone penetration journey by helping address one of the barriers that consumers can face when acquiring a smartphone, which is the upfront cost of a device.”

Kebaso said access to smartphones goes beyond device ownership, noting their role in connecting consumers to financial services, information, education, commerce and communication.

Expanding beyond major cities

The Kisii opening reflects Samsung’s strategy of working with its EIP partners to strengthen its physical presence in markets with growing consumer and business activity.

The new store gives consumers in Kisii and neighbouring counties a dedicated space to explore Samsung products, receive assistance and access services.

The Samsung Experience Store at Naivas Mall is now open to consumers.
