Eastleigh North MCA Ahmedqadar Dabar has been unanimously re-elected as the Chairperson of the Nairobi County Assembly Ward Development Fund (WDF) Committee, cementing his grip on one of the Assembly’s key oversight committees.
Dabar secured the backing of all the 11 committee members during elections held at the County Assembly precincts, earning another term to steer the committee responsible for overseeing ward-based development projects across the city.
Following his re-election, Dabar pledged to prioritize the completion of ongoing projects and ensure contractors who have successfully delivered projects are paid without delay.
“I want to take this opportunity to thank Members for unanimously electing me as their Chairman for the remainder of the period. I also want to assure them that I will ensure that contractors who have completed their work in our wards are all paid,” he said.
The Eastleigh North legislator also revealed that the committee would fast-track the rollout of new projects under the 2026/2027 financial year once the budget is uploaded and implementation begins.
“We want to ensure that we advertise those projects when the budget is up so that we do something with the short period remaining,” he added.
Dabar said the committee remains committed to ensuring development funds are utilized effectively and that projects earmarked for various wards are implemented within the stipulated timelines.
The Ward Development Fund Committee plays a critical oversight role by monitoring development projects undertaken by the Nairobi City County Executive and ensuring residents benefit from allocated resources.
