Moroccan football giants Wydad Athletic Club have praised Nairobi United FC for the warm reception and hospitality accorded to them during their recent visit to the Kenyan capital.

In an official statement, the CAF Champions League regulars singled out Nairobi United President Osman Abdi, the club’s committee, and its supporters for what they described as exceptional organisation and sportsmanship throughout their stay.

“Wydad Athletic Club extends its sincere thanks to President Osman Abdi, the Nairobi United committee, and the club’s supporters for the warm welcome and exceptional hospitality shown to our team in Nairobi,” the statement read.

The Moroccan side noted that the level of organisation, availability, and passion displayed by Nairobi United and its fans reflected the true values of respect and sporting fraternity that underpin football.

“The excellent organization, availability, and passion of the public truly reflected the values of respect and sporting fraternity,” Wydad added.

Wydad Athletic Club also wished Nairobi United success in their future competitions, lauding the club’s growing stature and professionalism on and off the pitch.

The visit, which formed part of ongoing sporting engagements between the two sides, has been hailed as a positive step in strengthening football relations between Kenyan and Moroccan clubs, while promoting continental camaraderie within African football.
