Former has responded sharply to allegations by lawyer and political commentator regarding cash withdrawals and money laundering claims.

In a strongly worded statement, Sonko dismissed Miguna’s assertions as baseless, accusing him of “throwing around heavy legal terms” without evidence. He maintained that criminal matters are determined in court, not on social media platforms.

“If you have proof, take it to investigative agencies — not social media. Criminal cases are determined in court, not in comment sections,” Sonko said.

The former governor further argued that no public funds were stolen during his tenure, noting that there have been no convictions against him related to the allegations. He also pointed out that he was recently cleared by the High Court on money laundering claims, stating that the court found no basis to sustain the accusations and ordered the unfreezing of his bank accounts.

“Facts and court rulings will always outweigh propaganda,” Sonko stated, adding that documentation exists to show the cash withdrawals in question were lawful.

The exchange marks the latest chapter in the long-running public sparring between the two figures, with both maintaining firm positions on the matter.
