Premium whisky brand The Singleton teamed up with the Grill Squad to deliver a vibrant and sold-out 5th edition of Meat-Up Fest, drawing over 1,200 food lovers to Naipei Gardens in Limuru for a full-day celebration of meat, culture, and connection

The highly anticipated event brought together Kenya’s growing community of grill enthusiasts, offering a rich selection of meats prepared in diverse styles and paired with The Singleton’s signature single malt whisky.

A Growing Culture of Experiential Dining

The early sell-out — days before the event — underscored the rising demand for curated outdoor food experiences. According to Simon Lapyem, Brand Manager for Singleton East Africa at , the festival reflects a shift in how Kenyans engage with food and social spaces.

“Kenyans are increasingly embracing experiences that combine great food, open spaces, and meaningful connection,” he said.

Fire, Flavor and Creativity on Display

The Grill Squad showcased its signature mastery, transforming the venue into a culinary playground. Highlights included the Maasai Village experience led by , whose innovative Singleton-infused sauces added a bold twist to traditional grilling.

Pitmaster impressed guests with expertly slow-cooked pork and beef, while chef introduced unique flavor pairings, including a standout cinnamon pineapple accompaniment to tomahawk steak.

Beyond the grill, The Singleton curated an immersive tasting experience, including complimentary cocktails for early attendees and whisky pairings designed to complement the diverse menu.

“Our focus is on enhancing the way people enjoy food — showing how whisky can elevate every bite,” Lapyem added.
