Kenyans seeking to travel to the United Kingdom can now apply for visas closer to home following the expansion of services by VFS Global to Eldoret and Mombasa.
The company has announced that applicants can book appointments online to submit their visa applications and enrol biometrics at newly established Premium Application Centres in the two cities. The move eliminates the need for many applicants to travel to Nairobi, where the main Visa Application Centre has been operational since October 2024.
The expansion comes amid rising outbound travel demand from Kenya to the United Kingdom, with VFS Global seeking to improve accessibility and convenience for applicants across the country.
Speaking on the development, Adin Jaisinghani said the new centres are designed to bring services closer to customers while maintaining high standards of service.
“We are pleased to expand access to UK visa services in Kenya through our Premium Application Centres in Eldoret and Mombasa, providing customers the convenience of applying closer to home,” he said. “Residents no longer need to travel to Nairobi to submit their visa applications and enrol biometrics while enjoying the same comfort, convenience and best-in-class service in these cities.”
He added that the expansion aligns with the company’s broader regional strategy aimed at enhancing customer experience, increasing service reach and responding to growing travel demand across Africa.
Applicants using the Mombasa centre will have access to a range of additional services, including document upload assistance, application status notifications and courier return of processed documents. The facility operates as a Standard Visa Application Centre on Tuesdays and as a Premium Application Centre on Fridays, offering flexibility depending on applicants’ needs.
VFS Global has partnered with UK Visas and Immigration since 2003. Prior to its latest contract, the company provided visa services in 58 countries. In 2023, it secured a new agreement to deliver UK visa services in 142 countries worldwide, significantly expanding its global footprint.
