Infinix has officially launched the NOTE Edge in Kenya, marking the global debut of the world’s first smartphone powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7100 5G platform and running on the all-new Android 16 with XOS 16.

The launch positions Kenya at the centre of a major shift in smartphone innovation, with Infinix placing long-term reliability, intelligent performance and battery longevity at the core of everyday mobile use.

Built around Infinix’s new “Dream Booster” concept, the NOTE Edge is designed to support modern digital lifestyles that demand constant connectivity, content creation and productivity. The device combines a premium curved-screen design, advanced AI features, 5G performance and industry-leading battery technology in an ultra-slim 7.2mm body.

At the heart of the NOTE Edge is the MediaTek Dimensity 7100 chipset, making its first commercial appearance worldwide. Unlike performance-focused processors that prioritise short bursts of speed, the Dimensity 7100 is engineered for sustained efficiency, enabling smooth gaming, streaming and multitasking while maintaining low energy consumption.

Self-Healing Battery and Long-Term Value

One of the standout innovations of the NOTE Edge is its self-healing battery technology, paired with a massive 6,150mAh capacity — the largest battery Infinix has introduced in the Kenyan market. The intelligent system repairs micro-damage during charging cycles, retaining over 80 per cent capacity after 2,000 full charge cycles, equivalent to up to six years of daily use.

The battery delivers up to 25.42 hours of continuous Google Maps navigation or 20.9 hours of YouTube playback, offering true all-day power. Despite the large capacity, advanced battery packaging allows the device to maintain a slim profile and lightweight 185g design for comfortable one-handed use.

AI-Powered Android 16 Experience

Running Android 16 with XOS 16, the NOTE Edge integrates AI-powered smart functions designed to simplify daily tasks, enhance content creation and optimise system performance. Features include intelligent scheduling, AI-assisted productivity tools and imaging enhancements for a responsive and seamless user experience.

The device supports up to 8GB of RAM, expandable to 16GB via MemFusion, alongside Perception Scheduling 3.0 optimisation for lag-free multitasking across office applications, social media and content platforms.

Infinix has also committed to three major Android-based XOS upgrades and five years of security updates, underscoring its focus on long-term software support and digital safety.

Sabrina Simader Partnership Highlights Human Impact

Adding a strong human-interest dimension to the launch, Infinix is spotlighting the journey of Sabrina Simader, Kenya’s first female Winter Olympian. Simader is returning to witness the Winter Olympics 2026 in Milano Cortina, powered by the Infinix NOTE Edge.

Having broken barriers for athletes from tropical nations during her historic Olympic debut, Simader now returns as a symbol of resilience and possibility. She will use the NOTE Edge to capture, reflect on and share Olympic moments, with her story set to be expanded into a standalone feature highlighting how technology supports bold dreams across new frontiers.

Market Availability

Commenting on the launch, an Infinix Kenya spokesperson said the company is responding to shifting consumer priorities.

“Kenyan consumers are increasingly focused on reliability, battery endurance and how long their phones remain secure and useful,” the spokesperson said. “The NOTE Edge reflects this shift, combining world-first technology with intelligent features that genuinely support everyday life.”

Priced from KES 32,999, the Infinix NOTE Edge is now available at authorised retail outlets nationwide, bringing premium 5G performance, AI innovation and self-healing battery technology to Kenyan consumers at an accessible price point.
