Makadara Member of Parliament George Aladwa who is also the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party Nairobi County Chairman, has firmly reiterated his unwavering commitment to the unity and strength of ODM amid growing internal and external pressures.

Aladwa who graced an ODM event attended by over 2000 women from across the county at the Kenya School of Science expressed support for the Broadbased Government and dispelled fears that ODM will collapse.

Aladwa addressed concerns over dissenting voices within and outside the party that have called for ODM to withdraw from its arrangement with President William Ruto’s administration.

The Broad-Based Government collaboration has sparked debate among ODM ranks, with some factions questioning the long-term benefits and others fearing it could dilute the party’s identity ahead of future elections.

” We are in broadbased and we fully support President William Ruto’s reelection and those who think ODM is about to collapse are day dreaming,” he said

Aladwa, known for his grassroots mobilization and vocal support for inclusive governance, dismissed these calls outright.

“ODM will remain intact,” he declared confidently. “We will not be intimidated by descending voices who want the party to walk out from this arrangement with President William Ruto. Our focus is on delivering for Kenyans, not on division or retreat.”

He emphasized that the party’s engagement with the government is strategic and aligned with ODM’s broader goals of advancing development, empowerment, and opportunity for ordinary citizens—particularly in urban centers like Nairobi, where issues such as job creation, housing, and economic inclusion remain critical.

Looking ahead to the 2027 General Elections, Aladwa exuded strong optimism about ODM’s prospects. He predicted that the party would emerge triumphant, securing a majority of seats across Nairobi County.

“We are building momentum,” he said. “With unity, clear messaging, and continued focus on the people’s agenda, ODM will win big in Nairobi. We will claim the majority in parliamentary, county assembly, and other elective positions because our base is solid and our vision is inclusive.”

Aladwa’s statements come at a time when ODM continues to navigate its role in national politics following the passing of its long-time leader, Raila Odinga, and amid ongoing discussions about power-sharing arrangements.

His position reinforces support for the Broad-Based approach among key Nairobi leaders, positioning ODM as a force for stability and progress rather than opposition for its own sake.
