Former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has shared new photos of Baby James, revealing a remarkable transformation since the child’s official adoption in January 2025.

James was orphaned after his father, Michael Omworo Ombui, a construction worker and single parent, was fatally stabbed by thugs in Mathare Area 4 while escorting the child to school. In the aftermath of the tragedy, Sonko stepped in to take responsibility for the child. He covered Ombui’s burial expenses and later adopted James, committing to provide him with a stable and nurturing home.
