CIC Group MD & CEO, Mr. Patrick Nyaga (inside left), flanked by CIC Board of Management members and a CIC intermediary representative, unveiled CIC’s Insurtech solutions during the launch of the One CIC digital channels on 28th October 2026 at CIC Group Head Office, Upperhill, Nairobi.

The My CIC App, online portal and USSD service are designed to simplify customer transactions and help agents and brokers manage their portfolios.

CIC Insurance Group (CIC) has unveiled a suite of digital channels aimed at making insurance and financial services more accessible, convenient and efficient for customers, agents and brokers in Kenya and other markets.

The initiative, branded One CIC, brings together the My CIC App, CIC Online portal and USSD service (*304#), giving users different ways to access the group’s services depending on their needs and digital preferences.

The USSD option provides an alternative for customers without smartphones, while the mobile application and online portal offer additional functionality for users who prefer to manage their insurance and financial services digitally.

Through the platforms, customers and intermediaries can access solutions from CIC General Insurance, CIC Life Insurance, CIC Impact, which provides microinsurance, and CIC Asset Management.

The digital transformation forms part of CIC’s broader strategy to expand access to insurance and investment products, improve customer experience and use technology to help address Kenya’s insurance protection gap. It is also intended to strengthen the group’s Insurtech proposition and support its ambition to become a pan-African financial services partner.

Speaking during an engagement session where intermediaries were introduced to the digital channels, CIC Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Patrick Nyaga said the platforms would give customers and intermediaries greater flexibility in how they interact with the group.

“Through our Insurtech proposition, we are simplifying our customer’s experience while giving them greater choice in how they interact with financial services. The One CIC Digital channels enhance the experience of both our customers and our intermediaries while giving them the freedom to select their preferred channel,” Nyaga said.

He added that customers would continue to receive support through two round-the-clock contact centres.

“In addition, the channels are supported by two 24-hour contact centres, one dedicated for health insurance while the second one supports all our other customer engagements,” he said.

The CIC Online portal and My CIC App are designed to provide end-to-end self-service and give customers visibility of their portfolios. Agents and brokers can also manage their client portfolios through the intermediary functionalities available on the application and online portal.

Stephen Muriithi, owner of Earnest Insurance Agency, said his agency had worked with CIC’s digital team to develop the agency module for the application and online portal.

“We were privileged to work alongside the CIC digital team to co-create the agency module for both the Super App and the CIC online portal,” Muriithi said.

He said the platform would enable intermediaries to access tools designed to support customer acquisition and day-to-day business operations.

“Among the capabilities that intermediaries will enjoy includes an attributable referral link which helps to onboard new customers directly using the digital channels. The intermediaries will also easily cross sell products from different business lines from the one stop shop, generate quotes, view their commissions, initiate claims on behalf of their customers among other functionalities – a testament to the CIC Insurtech capabilities,” he said.

The platforms are expected to help intermediaries streamline client management, identify opportunities to cross-sell products across CIC’s business lines and access information needed to serve customers.

The launch comes as digitalisation continues to feature in efforts to widen access to financial services and improve customer engagement. The Insurance Regulatory Authority has identified digital platforms and user-friendly services as important enablers of insurance access and inclusion.

Through One CIC, the group aims to give customers and intermediaries more convenient ways to access its products and manage their interactions with the business.
